About Deno
Deno Hondros was elected to the Fayetteville City Council in 2022, representing District 9. A lifelong resident of Fayetteville, Deno is committed to serving the city his family has called home for generations. His focus is on making Fayetteville a leader in economic growth, family friendliness, and quality of life—always keeping Fayetteville first.
Born and raised in Fayetteville alongside his two sisters, Deno is a first-generation American. His parents immigrated from Greece in search of a better life and taught him the value of hard work, service, and faith—principles that still guide him today.
Deno has over 30 years of experience as a small business owner and more than 20 years in commercial real estate. He currently serves as a Senior Broker at Franklin Johnson Commercial Real Estate, using his expertise to help grow Fayetteville’s economy and bring smart development to the city.
Since 2018, Deno has served in a number of public roles, including Chairman of the City’s Storm Water Advisory Board (SWAB), and as a member of the City’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Task Force, City Council Stormwater Committee, City SPIRIT Committee, Murchison Choice Planning Committee, and the Salvation Army Board of Directors. He’s also held leadership roles within the Longleaf Pines Board of Realtors, contributing to the Legislative, DEI, and Political Action Committees.
At Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Deno serves as Parish Council President, following in the footsteps of his father and other church elders. He’s been active in the church’s planning, bylaws, and Greek Festival committees for decades. He’s also given back through youth mentorship and coaching basketball.
Deno is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School and Fayetteville Technical Community College. He is married to Liza Hondros, a small business owner and member of the Fayetteville Regional Airport Commission. They’re raising their son James with the same values of service, faith, and community that have shaped their lives.
